Why Jesus Lived

"And so there came one who said that he would teach the ultimate lesson for he would walk into every aspect of your beingness, and he would raise it up into the light. And so there came unto the earth a man that you call Jesus. And he was a man. He was born of a woman, and he lived a childhood, not unlike other childhoods of those days.
He and his mother knew why he was here. He was here to live the experiences that you had created. He was here to bring into your awareness your journey from the light that dwelt within you, into the darkness that you had created, and back out into the light. He came to bring to your remembrance the homeward path. But in order to do this, he had to hold your attention. He had to ask that you seek after that which he is. He brought to you yourself, your divine self.
He came to the earth, and he taught only long enough to have aroused up the curiosity and the intellect of humankind. He never came to start a new religion. That was Peter’s idea. He never came to take you away from anything that you were. He came to bring you back to that which you are.
He knew when he came that he would have to experience all of the things that you had created, all of the error perceptions, for if he had not walked the path that you made, then you could say, ‘Ah, it is easy for you, for you have never been where I am!’
And so, he knew he took upon himself a very arduous journey. A journey that only one who knew that he was the son of God and lived it, to whom it was an actual experience, moment by moment of his earthly life, could do. And so, he took upon himself a body of flesh. He came to the earth, and he walked your path.
Now this is where the error perception came in, from the fathers of the church who followed thereafter, that he died for your sins. That is not the purpose of his journey. The purpose of his journey was to cause you to die to your sins!
In other words, to recognize that error perception or sinfulness, as you call it, is the path that leads you away from understanding, away from God-consciousness. The error perceptions, that you have held fast to, have held you in separation from the Godness of you. It was that he came to remove. But, as is typical of humankind, you had to mess it all up! No matter. The truth is out.
When it came time for him to lay aside the physical body, he knew that it had to be done in a manner that would be recognized and remembered for all time to be. For if it were a gentle, quiet passing into spirit, as it were, and then being resurrected, it would only be a handful of people who would ever hear of it. For there were others before him who have done it, and there have been those since him who have done it as well, and you don’t even know who they are!
Therefore, there had to be something about what he was doing that would capture and hold the imagination of humankind. It had to be brought down into the very cells of your beingness in order for you to recognize it. How sad that it got so twisted around and turned around from what the intent was.”
