Real Meaning of the Resurrection

"Now there had to be someone to discover the empty tomb. There had to be someone to break the Roman Seal, someone who would not pay with their life for it. So, Michael the Archangel came forth. He said, ‘I will be glad to trounce upon the Roman Seal!’ So, he did, and he set it a thunder. The soldiers were aware that something was going on that they had no control over. And so, they decided they had better get together and all tell the same story, or they were dead men! So, they went back with their story, and you know that part of it.

The other part of your Scripture that is not accurate… it was not Mary Magdalene who first saw the risen Christ. It was Mary, the mother of Jesus. She knew what to look for. So did Mary Magdalene and so did the third woman whose name was Judith, who accompanied them. They were all members of the Essenes.

Now when they arrived, they looked for him and they did not see him. Instead, they saw the angels and the workers from the other realms. The women inquired of them, ‘What have you done with him? Where is he? What, what, what’s going on here?’

And it was then that he appeared, first to his mother, because of the great bond between them. When she went inquiring, he spoke her name and she turned and there he was! Not the broken body of the child she had given birth to but the risen Christ. Humankind passed the portals of death forever. She alerted Mary Magdalene and Judith.

Now, Mary Magdalene was quite a powerful woman. She was very wealthy. She was the reason Jesus could travel about the way he did because she saw to their needs, always to him and the twelve. That was her part to play. And so, she went running to Peter and to John. Now, they were already knowing that this was going to happen. However, they didn’t quite know it.

Peter was a very powerful man of action. He was a very physical person in a sense. John was much more spiritual, and John understood. And that is why, when they went running back to the tomb, John did not have to go in because he knew the Christ was not there. But Peter! Peter had to see for himself. So, he went racing inside and looked around and said, ‘What do you know. He pulled it off! He really did it!’

Now John knew convincing the others was not quite so easy. They wanted to believe. They truly did and they halfway did. But the human element of them entered in. And, as many miracles as they had witnessed, as many people they had seen rise from the dead with the touch of the man Jesus, they still found it hard that he, whom they had seen upon the cross, could bring himself back. But he did. And he appeared to them. And you all know the rest of that.

There is more to it, but the point is, Beloveds, that all of this was done to keep your attention, to hold you to the great truth that you are forever and this physical life you lead is only a mere shadow existence. It is a limitation that you have poured your limitless self into and pretend you are a victim thereof.

And that was the whole purpose of why Jesus came and that was the whole purpose why the spring of your year had been designated as the time in which all of this took place. Actually, it was a little later on in the year, but that doesn’t matter because you have combined it with your old pagan beliefs, and you named it Easter and you brought it into the springtime and who cares? The point is that you remember its value of why it happened, of the significance of it in your lives today, this time in your time. It is your freedom, your key to life.

Now the early church fathers, having been taught in the old ways of how to run an organization, decided that they didn’t know nor understand any of this stuff. So, they brought it down into the old pagan ideas of a sacrifice in order to appease an angry God and that is where you get the idea that Jesus died for your sins.

Beloveds, you are so loved by God and so cared for that there is no possibility that this God of love could ever inflict upon any living thing unbearable pain. There is nothing in that God that would bring you sorrow or limitation or judgment or condemnation or anything. For the God that is in you is pure love, unspeakable joy, a foreverness.

This that the man Jesus came to do was not to make him something to be worshipped. He never meant for you to worship him. He meant for you to follow his example and to lift yourselves out of the limitations that you have created and into the freedom that you are. That was the whole purpose behind it and nothing more.

You are life. And he came to demonstrate that life cannot be withheld from anything, including a physical form, if you so desire. And that is what he came to teach you and that is the lesson to be learned.”
