You are spiritual beings. The spirit of you is that part of you that is made in the image and the likeness of God. …Now God doesn’t look anything like you because God is a powerful force, an individual holiness that dwells everywhere.

Everything that you can look at, such as your sky, your trees, your flowers, human life, animal life are all expressions of Divine Being, which is God. So God is limitless and boundless… all powerful.

…The spirit of you is that aspect of what we term the Divine Flame. What you call God, we call the Divine Flame. In Divine Flame all things are. From the aspect of Divine Flame there is no separation of holiness and life. Life in all of its forms is an expression of God. It doesn’t matter whether the expression is a flower, a blade of grass, a human being. All are expressions of a divine force whose only desire is to become more and to express love. The only lesson that you have come to earth to learn is love, unconditional love.

That spirit of you, that portion of you which is like God, has all of the potential of God. You are creative. You are creators, and human beings are the only ones who can create more than their own species. The birds create more birds. Animals beget more animals. People beget more people, but more than that, people create other things such as this building in which you dwell. You fly through the air even though you were born without wings. You can do all of these things because your creative imagination has made it possible for you to envision and to know of things that you can bring into form.

So God gave to humankind free will and He said, ‘Go out and play and have a good time and create whatever you want.’ In that creation you have made your world, your personal world and your experiences. You have created all of your experiences. You place them before you upon the path and then you walk through them. That creative ability and power come from the spirit of you, that aspect of you which is in the image and the likeness of God.

The spirit of you is boundless and eternal. You live forever. You are forever. The only thing that dies, as you call it, is your physical form. You lay it aside much as you would a worn garment that you no longer have any use for. The spirit of you goes on eternally.

You choose any experiences you want and you create it in your thought patterns in your mind. Then you bring it to pass. You put it upon the path and you say, ‘Oh, lo and behold, look what has come upon me.’ You call it a disaster or a joyous experience, depending upon what you have created, but nonetheless, you do this for the experience of it.

A spirit who does not enter into the creative process is very much like a person who reads a book… The person is there looking at the story and it is all very exciting, but the person is not living and experiencing it. The person doesn’t know what it is like to really do it.

But a spirit who comes to earth and creates and goes through all of the adventures – you create some doozies, I tell you, you really do – is different from those who just read a book. Then the person is in the adventure, experiencing it, and from it is learning many, many things.

Now you might think, ‘I have had this or that go wrong in my life. Why would I choose that?’ You do choose the experience for the lesson that it gives you – the gift in it. The gift is always one thing: to learn to love unconditionally, not to love only that which loves you but rather to love broadly and unconditionally so that your life is a shining reflection of the love of God.

Because you create so many adventures, you go on and on, lifetime after lifetime. I don’t know how many of you here believe in reincarnation. It doesn’t matter. It is a fact. You choose to come back to the earth over and over again. You never come back as a butterfly or as any kind of creature. You always, always come back as human beings."

"When you pray, what you are doing is bringing in divine intervention. In other words, you are bathing the situation in a very spiritual holy light and in that light all negative conditions must dissipate. This does not take away a lesson, but it does take away the pain. ...It is always appropriate to pray. ...The will of God is always loving and benevolent. It is always joyous and uplifting and healing and whole. But God gave you free will to create whatever situation you care to walk through. If you don't ask for His intervention, He doesn't intervene. He let's you go. Divine intervention is the inflow of such profound, all-encompassing love that it just bathes the person (i.e. being prayed for) in this love. They have to have a change of consciousness because they are lifted right up on the wings of that love and that causes them to change their mind, to change their thinking. The power of divine intervention only comes by invitation. ...Divine intervention is upon request. When you ask for divine intervention, you get it. If you don't ask, you don't get it because you are a person of free will. Everyone is."

“One of the worst things that can happen to a person is to become deeply embroiled in a religious organization – not because the religious organization is evil but simply because they tend to follow what was done yesterday. They don’t go forward in their learning. This is true of any religion. I’m not poking holes at Christianity particularly, it’s true of any religion, just as it’s true of any set-in-concrete ideas. There’s a difference between holding fast to a truth and refusing to learn something new – they’re not the same thing.”
